What Is My Ram 1500 Maintenance Schedule?

Your vehicle’s maintenance schedule is based on the mileage you travel in your truck.

  • 5,000-Mile Service Appointment

Your truck’s first service appointment will typically happen around the first six to 12 months of ownership. At this point, you’ll want to get an oil and filter change, tire rotation, and a full inspection. Continue doing this annually for your truck.

We know how rugged the Ram 1500 is, so if you’re driving through harsher conditions regularly, you’ll probably want to come in at 3,000-mile intervals.

To make sure everything is running smoothly between these appointments, check your vehicle’s tire tread and oil fluid levels every month or two.

  • 20,000-/30,000-/40,000-Mile Service Appointments

Your vehicle’s 20,000-mile appointment will include many different inspections as well as a cabin/air conditioner filter replacement. At 30,000 miles, you’ll need to replace the engine air filter. The 40,000-mile appointment will include changing your vehicle’s rear axle fluid and manual transmission fluid, if equipped.

  • 100,000-Mile Service Appointment

Typically, vehicles hit 100,000 miles at around the 10-year mark. At this time, you’ll need to flush and replace the engine coolant, replace the spark plugs, and inspect and replace the PCV valve if necessary.

While this is a helpful overview of the maintenance your vehicle will need to have done over the years, you’ll want to refer to your truck’s owner’s manual for a more specific timeline.
