Jeep has always created unique engine options, so you can find the exact performance you want. In recent years, these options have extended to plug-in hybrid powertrains. No matter the type of SUV you’re after, the Wrangler and the Cherokee have you covered.Here’s a look at the pair of engine options available for the Cherokee:

  • 2.0L Turbo engine producing 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque
  • 3.2L V6 Pentastar® engine producing 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque

The Wrangler comes with five engine options. One is the same 2.0L Turbo engine as in the Cherokee, which produces an identical 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Next up is a 3.0L EcoDiesel engine, which generates 260 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. There’s also a hearty 3.6L Pentastar® V6 engine, generating 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque.

At the top of the Wrangler list is the Rubicon 392 trim, featuring a 6.4L HEMI® V8 that produces 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.

So, where can you turn for a hybrid model? The Wrangler 4xe is the go-to. The 4xe flaunts a hybrid powertrain, with 375 horsepower, 470 lb-ft of instant torque, and 49 miles of all-electric range!

The cabins of the Wrangler and the Cherokee are slightly different—yet both are accommodating.First, the Wrangler can be had in a 2-door or a 4-door model.

With the 2-door arrangement, the available legroom measures 41.2 inches up front and 35.7 inches in the rear. The interior cargo volume checks in at 12.9 cubic feet behind the second row and 31.7 cubic feet total.

Here’s how the 4-door Wrangler measures:

  • 41.2 inches of front legroom
  • 38.3 inches of rear legroom
  • 31.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats
  • 72.4 cubic feet of cargo space total

As for the Cherokee, it can only be had with four doors. The legroom in the front measures 41.1 inches and is a generous 40.3 inches in the back. The cargo volume measures 25.8 cubic feet behind the second row and 54.7 cubic feet total!
