When you’re ready to upgrade to a larger, plusher SUV, you may be faced with many choices. Two choices include the 2024 Grand Wagoneer and the Ford Expedition. These two mighty tanks move through the streets of Worcester, Auburn, and Shrewsbury, Massachusetts, with stealthy motion.
To decide between the two, Harr Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram (CDJR) put these competitors to the test. In this comparison, you’ll discover which vehicle excels over the other.
Three diverse leather trims can furnish the Grand Wagoneer, while the Ford Expedition offers two. When you sink into one of the standard 20-way adjustable power front seats in the Grand Wagoneer, choose either heat, ventilation, or optional massage settings to relax. The Ford Expedition only comes standard with an 8-way power driver seat and to enjoy leather seating with heating and ventilation, you will have to go up a few trim levels.
Waft some cold air your way when you turn on the standard 4-Zone Automatic Temperature Control in the Grand Wagoneer. Or roll open the Tri-Pane Panoramic Sunroof to bring the great outdoors inside.
With the Ford, you do get Tri-Zone Electronic Automatic Temperature Control in each trim, but that’s the max. It also does offer an available Panoramic Vista Roof®, but it doesn’t span the entire length of the Expedition.
Feel safe inside the Grand Wagoneer with its large menu of standard and available safety systems. It’s a full package that includes incredibly innovative systems. Some of the standard ones include:
You even can store important papers or valuables within the vehicle safe. Use the touchpad activation to unlock it to retrieve said items. The Ford doesn’t have anything like this on board.
While the Ford does offer comparable systems to those listed above for the Grand Wagoneer, none of them come standard. With the Grand Wagoneer, choose more available systems that give you extra protection, visibility, and alerts. They include:
The Expedition is more limited in the available safety features it offers compared to the Grand Wagoneer.
Shifting to the performance of these two SUVs, you will find a robust 3.0L Hurricane Twin-Turbo 510 engine in the Grand Wagoneer. This powerful engine is able to create up to 510 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque.
That type of power translates into your Grand Wagoneer being able to tow up to 9,800 pounds. With the Ford Expedition, you will get around daily using its 3.5L EcoBoost® V6 engine. Its standard output is 380 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. When it comes to towing, the Expedition reaches a towing capacity of up to 9,300 pounds.
Both the Grand Wagoneer and Ford Expedition offer a lot for the whole family to enjoy. If you’re looking for something larger and plusher for riding around Worcester, Auburn, and Shrewsbury, MA, though, the Grand Wagoneer might just be the SUV for you and your loved ones. To really see what it is like inside this SUV, schedule a test drive today here at Harr CDJR!
