You have a host of performance and capability options to consider with the 2022 Durango. This is a fairly standard formula for Dodge since the brand is always trying to design vehicles specific to individual driver needs.

First, you’ll have to decide if you want your Durango in rear-wheel drive (RWD) or all-wheel drive (AWD). Then, you can pair that drivetrain with one of the following motors:

  • 3.6L Pentastar® V6 making 295 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque
  • 5.7L HEMI® V8 making 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque
  • 6.4L HEMI® V8 making 475 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque

 

Paddle shifters are available if you want to be more involved in the gear-changing process. Otherwise, an 8-speed automatic transmission will determine the proper gear.

So how about towing? Well:

  • Both V8 engines with AWD can tow as much as 8,700 pounds when properly equipped
  • The 5.7L V8 with RWD can tow as much as 7,400 pounds
  • The V6 can tow as much as 6,200 pounds with AWD or RWD
