The Ram 1500 comes with a powerful V6 engine that produces 305 horsepower. You can also choose an available mild-hybrid V8 that produces 395 horsepower. The diesel option is a 260-horsepower V6. To enjoy the ultimate performance, choose the supercharged V8 that comes with the TRX and produces a spectacular 702 horsepower. Each engine mates to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

All Ram 1500 models can handle off-road environments due to optional four-wheel drive. Serious off-roaders can go with the TRX or Rebel trim to take advantage of features like a trail-ready suspension, locking differentials, and skid plates. When properly equipped, the Ram 1500 can tow up to 12,750 pounds.

Ram 1500 Comfort and Space

The Ram 1500 is available with a Quad Cab or Crew Cab and a standard 6-foot-4 bed, though a 5-foot-7 bed is optional. Several options are available for the bed, such as bed lights, a handy tailgate step, and storage bins built into the walls with the RamBox® system. The tailgate is versatile and can be opened down or to the sides.

The base Ram 1500 model comes with the Uconnect® infotainment system and a 5-inch touch screen with Bluetooth connectivity and a Wi-Fi hot spot. The system is easy to use and boasts responsive menu options, a logical layout, and shortcuts for frequently used features. Optional upgrades include an 8.4-inch or 12-inch touch screen, numerous premium sound systems, HD radio, satellite radio, navigation, and wireless device charging. Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay® can be added, which allows you to stream your music and media through the onboard system.

Several advanced safety features are available for the 1500, including automatic high-beam headlights, a head-up display, and a surround-view parking camera for a bird’s-eye view of the area around the truck and trailer. Park assist and lane-departure warning, a feature that alerts you if you drift out of your lane, are also available. You can also add forward-collision warning to detect and prevent frontal collisions, even with a trailer attached.
