Four Engine Lineup
The more you learn of the 2021 Wrangler, the more customizable you’ll find the SUV to be. In terms of performance, picking your preferred powertrain is probably where the decision-making process starts.
There’s a 2.0L turbo engine, a V6 that comes in two states of tuning, and a diesel. The 2.0L turbo is able to make 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. Picking the 3.0L diesel significantly upgrades torque to 442 lb-ft while horsepower registers 260.
Then there’s the 3.6L PENTASTAR® engine which can be had with or without eTorque technology. eTorque is a mild hybrid system designed to improve fuel economy. If you choose to have the eTorque option, your engine will make 285 horsepower, 260 lb-ft of torque, and will return an EPA-estimated 19 city MPG/24 highway MPG. Without eTorque, the horsepower and torque outputs remain the same while fuel economy is slightly lowered to an EPA-estimated 17 city MPG/23 highway MPG.
2021 Jeep Wrangler Towing Capacity
In addition to easily traversing off-road trails on the way to your favorite secluded cabin, the 2021 Wrangler can also bring along a trailer or boat thanks to its hefty towing capacity. No matter the engine you choose, you can properly equip your Jeep Wrangler to tow as much as 3,500 pounds.
