2021 Jeep Cherokee Review
If you have questions about the model, our Harr CDJR is around to help!
Trio of Exciting Engines
For 2021, the Jeep Cherokee can be had with one of three engines, each of which has unique characteristics that alter performance. If you want to emphasize fuel economy, raw horsepower, or capability, the Cherokee makes it easy to do so.
The smallest offering is a turbocharged 2.0L engine boasting 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. At an EPA-estimated 23 city MPG/31 highway MPG, this 2.0L is the most efficient option in the lineup, too.
While the 2.4L engine doesn’t match the efficiency of the 2.0L, it can still go 474 highway miles on a single tank while producing 180 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque.
Finally, you can step up to the 3.2L V6 if you want, an option boasting 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque.
Ability to Travel Anywhere
In true Jeep fashion, the Jeep Grand Cherokee is an adventurous SUV which you can customize to deliver varying degrees of off-road readiness. The 4×4 systems include:
- Jeep® Active Drive 4×4 System
- Jeep® Active Drive II 4×4 System
- Jeep® Active Drive Lock 4×4 system
Each system automatically engages four-wheel drive when needed, delivering stability both on- and off-road. The more advanced systems will come with features like a two-speed power transfer unit, available 4-Low mode which is handy when crawling over rocks, and Active Drive Lock.
Plus, tracking your off-road progress is simple with the available Uconnect® 4C Nav system. Vital insights such as the transmission temperature and the wheel articulation will show up directly on the 8.4-inch touchscreen display.
