What’s New for the 2019 RAM 1500?
For 2019, Ram 1500 adds many exterior and interior upgrades along with significant new engineering. One of Ram’s six trim levels is a perfect pick, whatever your budget. Ram reduced the 1500’s weight by 225 pounds and gave it and aggressive, aerodynamic style with active grille shutters and an air splitter. The 2019 Ram offers signature LED headlamps, a revised grille aluminum tailgate and optional new 22-inch aluminum wheels. Impressively, the new frame is now almost 100% high-strength.
The 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 and 5.7L Hemi V8 engines now output more torque thanks to innovative eTorque technology. Moreover, the engines are now linked to a new 8-speed automatic transmission. An upgraded 4WD transfer case appears in the 2019 model. The rear brakes now feature brawny 14.9-inch rotors and the electrical parking brake replaces the mechanical one.
The 2019 Ram truck bed can haul 2,300 pounds, and the truck has a 7,000-pound towing capacity. The enhanced RamBox Cargo Management System includes a 115-volt power outlet and a pair of storage bins that are LED-lit, drainable and lockable. For improved handling and ride, check the box for the available self-leveling suspension.
The Ram 1500’s cabin sets new standards for luxury, offering lots of leather, as well as a 360-degree view camera, five USB ports,8.4-inch or optional 12-inch touchscreen, and an available 900-watt sound system. The cabin is whisper-quiet, due to active noise cancellation and active-tuned mass modules. Available safety features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Mitigation and Lane Departure System. Other interior features include a new rear flat-load floor, a reconfigurable center console, an available dual-pane power sunroof and shade and more in-floor storage.
